Selain memanggil juruteknik untuk settingkan modem anda, anda sebenarnya boleh setting sendiri kerana ianya tidaklah susah.. daripada membayar RM75 untuk pemasangan kepada tmnet, mereka hanya datang dan sengaja mengambil masa yang lama untuk memasang steamyx ini untuk kelihatan rumit..






Di sini saya akan tunjukkan 2 cara untuk pemasangan streamyx:

1. menggunakan modem router sahaja tanpa wireless router( untuk 1 komputer)
2. menggunakan modem router dan wireless router (untuk multi komputer)

1. menggunakan modem router sahaja tanpa wireless router( untuk 1 komputer)

Saya mengunakan modem D-link DSL 520 T. Pasangkan kabel telefon pada splitter yang diberi dan pasang 1 bahagian daripada splitter itu kepada komputer anda. Hidupkan power modem dan komputer anda... buka internet explorer atau firefox dan taip http://192.168.1.1 . masukkan username dan password ( biasanya username = admin dan pasword = admin ), dan page untuk setting modem akan terpapar.

setting seperti diatas kecuali untuk user name dan password.. user name mestilah username@streamyx bukan username@streamyx.com .. klik gambar di atas untuk bsarkan. apply seting setelah selesai.. untuk setting lain biarkan sahaja dan jangan ubah...

sekarang anda boleh connect kepada streamyx..

2. menggunakan modem router dan wireless router (untuk lebih dari 1 komputer)

ikut seperti langkah di atas cuma ubah pada DHCP mode.. sila pilih no DHCP seperti di bawah..

untuk WAN setting pula, ubah kepada Bridge mode sahaja dan jangan ubah seting lain..

Cabut cable lan dari komputer anda dan pasang kepada lubang DSL di wireless router.. pasang kabel lan dari wireless router ke komputer anda dan buka setting wireless router dengan menaip htp://192.168.1.1 di internet browser.

Sila setting seperti diatas.. pilih PPPoE untuk internet connection type.. save setting dan restart wireless router.. Sekarang anda sudah boleh mengunakan wireless untuk conect kepada internet. semoga berjaya ....

my house use Celcom HSDPA high speed broadband with 2.0 mbps maximum speed internet connection... and i use linksys WRT54G router to share internet with my housemate..
i use Huawei 3G USB modem....
then i use my computer as a server to to share internet with others.... i connect LAN cable to my router and the router will set DHCP server so that it can set automatically ip to client computer...
here some tips to set the usb 3G modem to available use by client computer.
firstly set the usb 3G modem eligible to use with other computers.

this box appear by click properties to the USB 3G wireless...
tick 'allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection'
then click ok.

then the next step is setting the LAN (TCP/IP) configuration.
this box appear by clicking properties of the LAN connection...
please set the ip like above.. then click ok...then the router is ready to connect to the computer's LAN...

I use celcom 3G broadband because celcom has the widest 3G coverage in Malaysia instead of maxis broadband... maxis may be have 3G coverage but not wide as celcom 3G.. and maxis still develope their HSDPA coverage in Malaysia..
I pay RM 120 a month for 2mbps rather than RM 88 TMnet 1mbps internet connection...
but TMnet more stable than celcom 3G broadband
and also maxis broadband provide 384kbps internet connection for RM 99 per month.. that's too expensive for that kind of slow connection..
